Cambridge International School keeping its commitment to preserve and nurture the nature moved a step ahead by adopting a local park in Phagwara city.
The school took this initiative in a collaborative effort between residents of Urban Estate Phagwara and the school to improve and maintain the park.
Mr.Som Prakash Honorable MLA Phagwara City was the chief guest of the day. The event initiated under the guidance of Mrs. Anita Somprakash, Mrs.Jaswinder Kaur ,MC , Managing Director CIS Mr.K.S.Bains, Principal Mr.Jorawar Singh, Administrator Mr.AmarjeetSingh, Mr.Pankaj Gautam , members of Urban Estate Phagwara, staff and students of Cambridge International School Phagwara.
MR.Som Prakash, Chief Guest for the event motivated the students to follow the footsteps of Swach Bharat Abhiyaan initialed by Honorable Prime minister Mr.Narendra Modi and keep the city, state and nation clean.
This initiative was further supported by students of IAYP (International Award for young people) of the school and Neighbors and community members who will volunteer their time to improve the chosen park. All members present there pledged that they will keep the park clean and will also work on a variety of projects including planting and maintaining flower beds; maintaining the trails and paths; painting and caring for park structures; cleaning up litter; planting, mulching, and watering trees; and generally making sure the park well maintained .
An inspirational Song “Zariya “by the students of Cambridge International School further strengthened the spirit for the move.
Mr.Pankaj Gautam a leading Business man of the town and a great social activist also motivated the students to plant more and more trees.
Principal ,CIS Phagwara Mr.Jorawar Singh encouraged the students to preserve nature for our future generations.
The programme ended with a Cleanliness drive which was launched by IAYP students of the school.
