Thus, they are brought together on different occasions. This time they came close on the field displaying healthy competition through the Inter-Cambridge Sports Meet. This was just another way to increase interaction through this thrilling experience. A sport is one of the genres that Cambridge International School, Phagwara students excel in. This Inter-Cambridge Sports Meet was a platform to perform, exhibit and develop the talent that each sportsman had. This time it was held at Cambridge International School, Kapurthala. Cambridgians from Kapurthala, Phagwara, Jalandhar, Kullu and nearby places came to participate. This meet was organized for age groups of Under-10 to Under-19. Relay race, Short put, 200-800 mt. race, Skating, Yoga, Tennis, Chess, Table Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, etc were the main attractions. There were teams for boys as well as girls. Since all were excellent sportsmen, the competition was tough and engrossing for all. The various games concluded in various shades of emotions for each team. Crowns of Victory shone for some while for others it was a pale defeat. Tiara of Victory was worn in Kho-Kho by Cambridge International School, Phagwara’s Girls’ under-10 team. Playing shoulder-to-shoulder with other team, girls also excelled in Basketball Under-14 team. The charming Girl players were Ganiman, Shruti, Divkirat, Lakita, Ramandeep, Harnoor Kaur, Surbhi and Jyotsna. Starts of Under-12 Tennis team, Keshav, Akshun, Lavish and Saksham bagged first position. Delights for Short put were Pratham Sondhi, Rahul Bharti and Yuvraj Singh, for 200-800 mt. race were Rahul nayyar, Hriday and Yashkaran. The players help top and third positions in various games. This could never have been possible without due support from the Principal of the school. Worthy Principal Mr. Jorawar Singh, who is always keen to see an all round development of a child, encouraged this activity. Chairman CIS Phagwara, Mr. K.S. Bassi was also highly appreciative of the talents of the students. They both congratulated the students for their sportsmanship and team spirit. Boys as well as girls were given equal chances and trained according to the needs of each. Respected Chairman and Principal ensured better platforms for the students for such activities in future. In Cambridge, a proof of striving for an overall development was again put forth.
