“Dance is the hidden language of the body and the soul.”
Cambridge International School organized ‘Solo Folk Dance Competition’ on 30th July, 2024 and 3rd August, 2024 for students of classes I and II respectively aiming to introduce the rich folk dance culture of India among young generation. The theme of the competition was ‘Incredible India’. About 125 students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. The competition began with great enthusiasm. Folk dances from different regions like Garba from Gujarat, Ghoomar from Rajasthan, Punjabi Folk dances and many more were showcased. The props were used articulately and the costumes of the participants were worth watching. This platform helps the students to open up, face the audience confidently and explore their hidden talent.
In Grade 1, Aaradhya Arora and Taanish bagged first position, Gurnawab, Nayra and Khwaish secured second position, Amaira, Rudra and Vaibhav bagged third position and Sirjan, Helena, Hargun, Hanika, Hinaya, Trishika, Yashvardhan got consolation position.
In Grade 2, Rutvi, Surya Gupta, Jiya and secured first position, Navika, Nyra, Chahat Jain, Sarojini Kumari secured second position, Naksh, Saira, Atharv, Bhuvi Bansal, Hinaya, Kaashvi and Samarthdeep bagged third position and Trisha, Delisha, Arnav Arora, Sahana got consolation.
All the participants were awarded with merit certificate by School Principal Mr. Jorawar Singh. Chairperson Ms. Jasvir Kaur Bassi congratulated all the winners for their outstanding performances.
